About This Expression
The connoisseur's tequila. Fortaleza is produced using methods unchanged for five generations: agave is slowly roasted in a traditional stone oven, crushed by a two-ton volcanic stone tahona wheel, fermented with natural yeast, and distilled in small copper pot stills. The Añejo is aged 18 months in ex-bourbon barrels. It is universally regarded as the benchmark for authentic, additive-free tequila.
