About This Expression
Patrón El Alto Extra Añejo Tequila is the pinnacle prestige luxury expression from the world's most iconic ultra-premium tequila house. Crafted at the picturesque Hacienda Patrón in the rolling highlands of Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, El Alto was created under the visionary leadership of master distiller David Rodriguez to push the boundaries of tequila aging. It represents a masterfully orchestrated assemblage of four distinct aging classifications, dominated by ultra-rare Extra Añejo tequilas that have slumbered in oak barrels for over four years.
The foundation of Patrón El Alto is 100% Blue Weber agave harvested exclusively from the highest elevations of Los Altos, Jalisco. Agaves grown in this high-altitude terroir develop exceptionally high sugar concentrations and vibrant floral notes. At Hacienda Patrón, the harvested piñas are slow-baked for seventy-nine hours in small brick ovens. In keeping with Patrón's commitment to artisanal heritage, a portion of the agave is crushed using traditional volcanic stone tahona wheels, while the remainder is processed through roller mills, capturing both deep earthy complexity and bright citrus freshness.
What elevates Patrón El Alto into an extraordinary luxury sipping spirit is its intricate, multi-barrel aging and blending regimen. Rodriguez married together mature Extra Añejo, Añejo, and Reposado tequilas aged across eleven distinct types of oak barrels, including French oak, American oak, and hybrid casks. The extra añejo component brings monumental depth, dark caramel, and seasoned oak complexity, while the añejo and reposado parcels provide youthful vibrancy, sweet cooked agave, and floral brightness.
Bottled at 40% alcohol by volume (80 proof), Patrón El Alto pours a radiant, deep golden amber. The aroma is seductive and complex, offering scents of sweet caramelized agave, vanilla bean, dried figs, roasted almonds, dark chocolate, and subtle oak wood spice. On the palate, it delivers an astonishingly smooth, velvety, and luxurious texture with notes of butterscotch, dried stone fruit, cinnamon, toffee, and toasted oak, resolving into an exceptionally long, sweet, and comforting finish.
Patrón El Alto is packaged in an elegant, towering turquoise-and-gold bottle inspired by the blue agave fields of Jalisco. It is designed to be served neat in a crystal snifter at room temperature, making it a spectacular choice for celebratory toasts, milestone anniversaries, and VIP entertaining.
This bottle is a magnificent acquisition for luxury spirits collectors, a breathtaking gift for tequila connoisseurs, and an unforgettable expression of master blending from Hacienda Patrón.
